Established to provide help and support in a multiple ways, Fahmida Begum Foundation is indulged in helping the disadvantaged with an array of programs and services.
From shelter and medication to education and skill development, we work towards taking the deprived out of their difficulties and problems, enabling them to dream of a better future.
Fahmida Begum Foundation is a non-profit, privately owned welfare organization. Established in 2014, with the purpose of supporting and helping the deprived, Fahmida Begum Foundation has come a long way and made a positive mark through a number of initiatives. In its early days, the organization focused on provision of shelter and food for families who couldn’t afford it, taking it further to other aspects of financial aid and educational support for the same set of families.
Fahmida Begum Foundation has served the society through the following initiatives
We are always ready and willing to help those in need. Whether its hunger, poverty, educational needs or financial support, our organization strives hard to deliver what is required.
Providing shelter to homeless families and providing for their household, medical and educational expenses. Our shelter home is currently providing for six families.
The Foundation, hosts a health clinic three days a week 5-8pm for woman & children supported by doctors from the respected Jinnah Hospital. The Clinic covers basic medical needs including free medicine & referrals to tertiary heath care providers.
To play its role in the domain of education and upbringing of young kids,an activity centre was set up which provided basic facility for recreation and learning .A playground is also a part of this initiative to develop sporting skills and mindset.

The organization also provides Scholarships and pays for the schooling of children who are deprived of education. At present 50 children are benefitting from these scholarships and studying in Mehran Govt School.
The Organisation is also taking care of 5 Special Needs children who are enrolled in ABSA School & College for the deaf.
Their tuition, transportation and documentation costs are taken care of.

To overcome Malnutrition especially in children the Foundation has set up Fahmida Dastar Khawan.

Providing a well balanced nutritious meal once a day to 350 people .Meals are also delivered to the elderly who are unable to visit the centre .Also providing a warm breakfast during the winter months.
During the month of Ramadan the foundation provides a number of additional services including:
The distribution of 700 Food Parcels two weeks before Ramadan.
Daily Aftari for 350 people to break their fast .Chaand Raat festivities .
Special meals on special occasions especially Pakistan Day.

To empower women, the organization focuses on improving the condition of women in terms of financial needs, health and education. Trainings are also provided to help in building a career.

Our staff takes families and children for medical checkups to tertiary hospitals three times a week. Special attention is given to women, children and elderly people.
We provide educational scholarship to children who cannot afford education. The students are enrolled in Mehran Govt. School, with tuition, clothing, books and equipment covered by the organization.
To help people avoid hunger, the organization has set up Fahmida Dastar Khawan. The kitchen feeds up to 250 people daily. In Ramadan, about 350 people are served with Iftari.
