Sheikh Abdul Rashid Jamia Masjid in Matiari, Hyderabad
The Sheikh Abdul Rashid Jamia Masjid in Matiari, Hyderabad, is a vital new resource for the local community, generously funded by COSARAF and executed in partnership with Mehran Welfare Trust.
Completed in June 2024, this spacious mosque, now the largest religious center in the village, can accommodate over 1,000 worshippers. It replaced a dilapidated structure, providing much-needed renovations and expanded facilities. Beyond daily prayers, it includes dedicated areas for a Madrasa, ablution, and funeral services, designed to foster community harmony and togetherness.
On December 4, 2024, COSARAF’s honorable trustees, Dr. Sheikh Idris and Madam Rukhsana Sheikh, officially inaugurated the Masjid after Zuhr prayers. Over 150 attendees, including local residents and Madrasa children, witnessed this momentous occasion. The Masjid also features solar panels, ensuring a sustainable energy solution for the community.
