Bisma's journey towards improved mobility began with a referral to SIPMRC for customized shoes to address her polio-impacted left leg. Following a detailed assessment, the shoe manufacturing process commenced and progressed through follow-up adjustments. By March 2025, Bisma received her specially designed shoes, which provided crucial support and improved her walking posture. Initial use, supervised by family and therapists, quickly yielded positive outcomes, with Bisma reporting increased comfort, stability, and confidence in walking independently. This enhanced mobility has enabled her to participate more actively in school and daily life, marking significant progress in her rehabilitation, with continued support from the Fahmida Begum Foundation
I am Rani, a 35-year-old single mother of six. My son works as a laborer, and I used to run a small canteen from home. As the primary provider for my family, I knew I needed to expand my income. I invested in hens and started selling eggs, hoping it would make a difference. Then, I learned about the FBF Bano Waseela Rozgar program, and it has been a true blessing. They gave me a food cart, which means I can finally run my canteen properly and attract more customers. They also provided a microfinance loan, allowing me to buy more hens and grow my egg business. I am so incredibly grateful for their support and the trust they have placed in me. This program has given me real hope for a better future for my children and me.
I am part of the Basic Literacy class and the tablet we use has helped me a lot. I already knew a little Urdu, but now I am learning English too. I can now understand captions on social media and engage with the world in a way I never could before.
